How to prepare for a law college in India

Joining one of the top private law colleges in Bangalore is not something normally students aspire for after their
Class 12th examinations. Usually, students run after the normal science, commerce and humanities subjects that
most of their peers also follow. But surprisingly getting admission to one of the top law colleges in India is not easy.

The law degree in India is regulated by the Bar Council of India which provides a choice of two graduate courses,

one is a three-year study for graduation or a five-year integrated course that earns an honour. The Bar Council of
India also sets the norms that recognise the law schools and award the degrees following which the student may
register as a Bar Council advocate and practise in any of the Indian courts.

A degree and further future in law are possible for people who have a passion to fight for justice and who at their

core believe that the truth shall always prevail. They would also be good with their communication, have a strong
logical and analytical skill and an eye for detail and be confident of their knowledge.

The law field also allows you to pick up any of the streams after class 10 though students who have made up their

mind at this stage usually pick up either the humanities or commerce. Some students, however, switch to the law
field after they have graduated in another subject. Some subjects that can help a law student in this degree before
they join are Legal Studies, Political Science, Economics, Psychology and History. These subjects help make up a base
for the other law subjects during graduation.

Many of the top private law colleges in Bangalore also require their law students especially for the five-year

course to have an acceptable score in different entrance examinations. But the Alliance School of Law which is one
of the top law colleges in India offers this degree only on the basis of merit and requires a minimum of 45% marks
in the Board examinations.

How to find a place that provides more than just one type of knowledge

Universities who are quoted to be the best MBA colleges in India only focus on one subject at a time. For instance a college where one can take admission in btech in computer science and engineering may get a few more of the engineering subjects but not any other streams of knowledge. Such a blend of students within the same campus is a rare find that provides the students with an array of life experiences useful later on in their life. For instance when a law student would be worried about the end of week test, another student from say business will be planning a project where they need help from an engineer. This cross stream knowledge and help would help students once they reach the corporate world where such various experiences will help. This blend of studies is seen at only a few places like at the Alliance University where at the Alliance College of Engineering and Design one can learn about the core subjects of Computer Science and Engineering.
